Product Descriptions

The diameter specification of molybdenum tips is usually between Φ 20 and 300mm, and special processing and manufacturing can be carried out according to the drawing requirements. They are widely used in perforated seamless steel pipes, such as stainless steel, drill steel, high-temperature alloy steel, and special parts such as molybdenum. Molybdenum plugs are particularly suitable for piercing seamless steel pipes such as stainless steel, drill steel, bearing steel, and high-temperature alloy steel, especially for hot rolling piercing in high-temperature and harsh environments.

Applications

Molybdenum plugs are used in various applications due to their unique properties such as high melting point, good thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance. The following are some common applications of molybdenum plugs:

1. High Temperature Furnace: Molybdenum plugs are often used in high temperature furnace applications, such as in the production of semiconductors and ceramics, where they can withstand extreme temperatures.

2. Electrical contacts: Due to its excellent conductivity and anti-oxidation properties, molybdenum plugs are used in electrical contacts and connectors in various electronic devices.

3. Aerospace Components: Molybdenum plugs are used in aerospace applications, especially parts that require high strength and thermal stability, such as rocket engines and heat shields.

FAQS

What are the issues that need to be noted during the use of molybdenum plugs?

1. Surface quality inspection: Before each use, the surface quality of the molybdenum alloy top should be checked to ensure that there are no defects such as sticking steel, pressure pits, or severe cracks. If serious defects occur, the top should be replaced in a timely manner. ‌
2. Preheating temperature control: The preheating temperature of the molybdenum alloy plug should be between 850~950 degrees, and the best color for piercing the plug is orange red. If the top temperature exceeds 1150 degrees, steel production should be stopped and production should resume after the top has cooled slowly. ‌
3. Temperature change control: During the perforation process, it is necessary to avoid rapid temperature changes at the top to reduce internal stress and extend the service life.
4. Preventing water splashing: During use, it is important to prevent water from splashing onto the top, otherwise cracks may occur.
5. Second use handling: When using the top for the second time, it should be air-cooled to around 400 degrees and water cooling is strictly prohibited. ‌
6. Protective measures: Due to the sublimation characteristics of molybdenum, protective measures or atmosphere should be used when heating the top of molybdenum alloy. Generally, heavy oil combustion flame heating is used to isolate the air and prevent the occurrence of molybdenum sublimation phenomenon.
7. Lubricant usage: Glass powder or industrial salt can be used as lubricants, evenly sprayed on the top surface. If lubricant is not used, although it can reduce the wear of the top, it will shorten its service life.
